SAIL, SCR, Panposh Hostel book berths in semifinals

SAIL Hockey Academy (Rourkela) and South Central Railway (Hyderabad) registered three wins in a row to secure berths int he semifinals of the 2nd Six-a-side Floodlight Hockey Tournament at Kalinga Stadium here today.

SAIL boys crushed an inexperienced Kalinga Institute of Social Science 6-0 to lead the table with nine points in Group-A. Sanjit Kujur scored a brace to be adjudged the man of the match. The star-studded railway side from Hyderabad defeated Panposh Sports Hostel (Rourkela) 2-0 to complete their league engagements with nine points in Group-B. Asish Anmol Minz won the prize as the man of the match. Panposh boys also entered the semifinals, posting two wins earlier.

Cuttack Sports Hostel trounced Sundargarh Sports Hostel 8-3 to come closer to the semifinals from group A. Sanjay Surin slammed four goals to bag the man of the match prize. East Coast Railway routed Sundargarh Sports Hostel 6-2 in the last match of the day to stay in race for the last four round.
